ANNUAL AGM SHOWS THAT VWS IS MOVING FORWARD The Volunteer Wildfire Services held their annual AGM on the 4th of May 2009 with 50 members and some new recruits present. The AGM was opened by VWS Chairperson Mr Charles Philips. All portfolio holders gave reports for the past season 2008/2009, and many directors received positive feedback from the members. |

 | | 2009/04/04 - Silvermine | | Fire | | The impressive thunderstorm in the early hours of Saturday morning gave rise to a small but intense fire on a peak above Noordhoek, further lighting up the skyline and leading to teams of fire fighters from VWS, SANParks and WoF shooting out of bed in the dark to assist in suppressing the flames.
