Chainsaw help for Red Hill

Three chainsaw operators from the VWS spent the day at Red Hill Informal Settlement on Saturday 10 October cutting up an enormous stone pine that had fallen over in strong winds recently, after being damaged in the fires of February 2008.

Eight hours of back-breaking work proved more than worthwhile, as the community was provided with a small mountain of fire wood, as well as larger pieces of wood that will be used for the manufacture of furniture and ornaments.
